BJP new state president B.Y. Vijayendra Appointed
B.Y.Vijayendra has been appointed as BJP State President with immediate effect.
Former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa's son and Shikaripura MLA B.Y. Vijayendra has been elected as the new state president. The announcement said that this appointment will be effective immediately.
Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel was the state president till now. His tenure ended before the state assembly elections.
The issue of not electing an official opposition leader was also discussed in politics. Questions were raised as to who will be appointed by the BJP, which was heavily criticized by the opposition for the appointment of the state president and leader of the opposition.
In terms of Lok Sabha elections and party organization, BJP has given important responsibility like the position of president to Vijayendra, and since Vijayendra is a young leader, it is said that BJP is keeping the expectation that the cadre of workers will be stronger and the party's organizational capacity will increase.
